About Our Beef

We run "cow share" schemes every few months and typically supply in 10kg and 5kg boxed portions. If you are interested please let us know and we'll add your name to the list. We will then let you know what cows are available and how they've been reared and you can decide if you would like to take part in that particular cow share. We plan quite far in advance so there will normally be 2 months notice.

We produce our beef from a variety of different breeds including Highland, Hereford and Sussex cattle. They are all extensively farmed and spend most of their lives outdoors - they are only brought into barns in the deep winter months when conditions outside become too miserable. Inside the barns they have plenty of space to roam about and are mainly fed silage prepared from hay on the farm.
We think that hanging our beef for up to 21 days really allows the flavours to develop to their full potential, so that's exactly what we do!
One of the many benefits in sourcing your meat from us is enjoying mince or stewing steak that has been matured in the exact same way that your rump or silroin steak has been aged. That's possible because we age the whole sides of beef and offer them in a mixed collection of cuts to suit a range of needs from a couple through to a huge family.
